Meghan's father-in-law and stepmother-in-law also shared a message for the Duchess. The pair shared a close-up photo of Meghan Markle's smile on their Instagram story saying, "Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday" with a balloon emoji.
The pair had also shared their excitement when Charles became a grandfather for the 5th time in June when Meghan gave birth to Lilibet Diana.
This message of love from Charles specifically would mean a lot to Duchess Meghan as her own relationship with her father is quite strained.

Meghan's father Thomas Markle Sr. has famously burned her daughter publicly and blackmailed both Meghan and Harry live on television. So it was Charles who walked her down the aisle. As a surrogate father, he came up with an incredible and fitting nickname for his daughter-in-law!
Thomas on the other hand has not wished his daughter a happy birthday and instead has threatened to take Meghan and Harry to court to gain access to Archie and Lilibet Diana instead of simply following her wishes and being kind and ceasing his endless talking to the press.
Luckily her mother's side of the family is nothing but supportive and loving and even though her relationship with the royals is a bit strained, there are clear signs that this will mend. Another pair of royals shared their love for Meghan as well...

The Cambridges and the Sussexes have always been quite close so it was beautiful for the commonwealth to read Prince William and Duchess Kate's sweet message for Meghan. They also shared gorgeous portraits of Meghan during their Australian tour back in 2018 with the caption: "Wishing a happy 40th birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!"
Kate was also overjoyed when asked about baby Lilibet Diana at the G7. According to Hello! she exclaimed, "I wish her all the very best. I can't wait to meet her. We haven't met yet. I hope that will be soon."
