Queen Elizabeth II probably has the best-known nicknames in the Royal Family. First, the monarch is known to be called Lilibet by her family. The name goes back to her childhood, when she was unable to pronounce her own name, and made it sound more like "Tillabet" or "Lilibet." The story was in the spotlight in 2021, when Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan named their daughter Lilibet after the Queen.

The Queen was also said to be called Cabbage by her now late husband Prince Philip. The name came to light when it was used in the 2006 film The Queen with Helen Mirren. The filmmaker, Peter Morgan, claimed to have learned of the pet name through trusted royal sources.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla secretly called each other Fred and Gladys when they were having an affair years prior to their marriage. The nicknames became known through the story of Princess Diana catching Charles gifting Camilla jewelry engraved with the initials F and G.
