- Here's all the Mark Harmon news since then
For years, Mark Harmon has been a big part of the lives of TV fans. But he finally stepped back from his lead role as "Gibbs" on NCIS in October 2021.
Since then, we haven't heard much about Mark Harmon. And fans want to know: Is he retired? Moving on to a new TV show? Coming back to NCIS?
Mark Harmon news since he exited NCIS
Mark Harmon, 70, hasn't made any career statements since he left NCIS. But his name has popped up a few times after the exit of "Gibbs." For starters, the actor stayed on the show as a producer.
In a new interview, "McGee" actor Sean Murray even said that Harmon still visits the NCIS set. "He does pop in. I saw him two weeks ago actually. So, he's around. It's not like he's packed up and left town or anything."
When Harmon left NCIS, the showrunner also said you should never count him out. Sean Murray agreed and said he "truly" believes "Gibbs" could appear on the show again.
So it doesn't sound like Mark Harmon is retired. But it looks like he is taking more time for himself now at age 70.
After NCIS: A rare Mark Harmon sighting
In a rare sighting, the Daily Mail recently spotted a casually-dressed Harmon buying a vintage Ford truck in LA. The star collects vintage cars, according to HitBerry, and that was hit latest addition.
Also interesting:
Mark Harmon is also still with his longtime wife Pam Dawber. And it seems family time, hobbies, and producing NCIS make up Mark Harmon's current schedule.
Fans still dream of a "Gibbs" comeback on NCIS and with the never-ending hints, we expect to see him back someday soon.
