Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee next month. As part of the festivities, she will have her Trooping the Colour parade on June 2. The Royal Family

In past years, you would see dozens of royals gathered on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. Children, cousins, friends — everyone was there. But this year will be much different. The Queen released a new statement saying that only "official" working royals will be on the balcony. That means some notable royals aren't welcome.

OUT: Prince Andrew

The Queen's decision leaves out the most controversial royal: Prince Andrew. He recently settled his sex abuse lawsuit, but his scandal forced him to step down from royal work in 2020. The Queen has supported her disgraced son throughout, but don't expect to see him on the balcony in June.

Likewise, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are excluded from the balcony. The couple is flying to the UK with their kids for the Queen's Jubilee, but her decision keeps them off the balcony. Though they remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they quit royal work for good in 2021.

IN: The Senior Royals

On the balcony, you will see the usual suspects. The senior working royals Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla as well as Prince William and Duchess Kate will certainly join the Queen for her special moment.

The Queen's other children, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, should be on the balcony with their spouses. They'll also be joined by working royals Prince Edward (Duke of Kent), Prince Richard, and Princess Alexandra, among others.

OUT: The Yorks

As they are not official working royals, the members of Prince Andrew's family have been cut from the balcony. So you won't see Fergie, Princess Beatrice, or Princess Eugenie there either.

OUT: The Kids and More

As it stands, it seems the royal children, such as William and Kate's kids, don't qualify, nor do the Tindall family or other more distant connections. But an exception was apparently made for Edward and Sophie's kids, Louise and James, who should be there.

But her Jubilee is a top priority, and reports say the 96-year-old is determined to attend. The Queen's celebration is in June, and the big balcony moment is June 2.

However, the Queen had a tough decision to make this year. She had to pick and choose who will appear on the balcony with her. In an official statement, the 96-year-old explained that, on the balcony, she will only welcome royals "currently undertaking official public duties."
