Prince Charles was back to work today, but the press was on his case about Prince Harry's latest interview.
The Prince of Wales was visiting a local business in Cardiff, where a reporter questioned him about comments his son made on a podcast this week. Prince Charles reportedly ignored the question and walked on.
Reporter asks Prince Charles about Harry's new interview
On Thursday, Prince Harry joined Dax Shepard's podcast to talk mental health, but remarks he made about parenting and royal life have become the biggest headline of the interview.
Today, according to The Sun, a reporter asked Charles: "Sir do you agree with Prince Harry about the suffering and pain in the family? Have you heard his comments?" He didn't answer the question.
On the podcast, Harry said that as a parent he's trying to "break the cycle" of "pain" and "suffering" that's been passed down through generations in the Royal Family.
He did say there was "no blame" on anyone in particular, but Harry seemed to be speaking about Prince Charles when he said, "he's treating me the way he was treated," referencing his own upbringing in a negative way.
The remarks were made as Harry explained how he wants to raise his children, now away from royalty and the UK. He said he needed to put his family and mental health first, and he agreed that he's trying to parent in "the opposite direction" from how he was raised.
Prince Charles questioned again on Harry's comments
It was the second time in recent months that Prince Charles was confronted by a reporter about comments made by his son in interviews from across the pond. After the big Oprah interview in March, Charles similarly avoided a question from another reporter.
Notably, Prince William on the other hand answered a question on racism after Harry and Meghan's interview, which led him to say the royals are "very much not a racist family."
Prince Charles and his son's relationship has been strained in recent years, a fact Harry confirmed in his Oprah interview. The pair was together again at the funeral of Prince Philip last month, and they reportedly spent time together while Harry was home.
