Everyone has thoughts on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's new TIME magazine portrait.
Most have been rather unkind to the photo, suggesting it looks photoshopped and odd. But some experts have also zeroed in on the pose and what it may say about the couple's relationship.
Harry and Meghan's TIME portrait: Body language analysis
The touched-up photo shows Meghan in full with Harry supporting by her side. One body language expert told the Daily Mail the photo of the royals looks "very forced" and reminiscent of a "PR campaign."
Communications coach Robin Kermode remarked that the Duchess has wide eyes in the photo to convey "openness," whereas Harry on the other hand appears more "natural" and "genuine."
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: a meaningful pose?
Expert Darren Stanton also said that Meghan wanted to show her "power" with her poses during the shoot. He believes Harry seems deliberately posed and positioned behind his wife.
Stanton added that Meghan's stands with her legs apart to again show that she's strong and independent. So, is that a sign of who wears the pants in their marriage?
No, Kermode concludes, as he said the main portrait is "probably one of hundreds of shots and doesn't necessarily represent the actual relationship balance of the couple."
The couple made the list of TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2021. The list was revealed on Prince Harry's 37th birthday, but the reception of the photos probably didn't go quite as well as all would've hoped.
