TIME magazine has announced its list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2021. The actual magazine issue will arrive on Friday — with a cover featuring Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan — but TIME named this year's honourees today. Here they are!

On top of Harry and Meghan, some of the big names from the celebrity world to crack the list include Dolly Parton, Billie Eilish, Scarlett Johansson, Britney Spears, and Lil Nas X.
Athletes including Simone Biles, Tom Brady, and Naomi Osaka are also recognized on this year's list, as are political figures like US President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

TIME also released a short essay on each honouree, and some stars penned the piece for a fellow member of the list. Meghan and Prince Harry, for example, did the write-up for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the first African and first woman to lead the WTO.
The full issue, on "The World's Most Influential People," will hit news stands and digital reading services this Friday, Sept. 17. A television special on the list will follow on Sept. 20.
