For several months, the filming of NCIS and other series stood completely still. Now, things are picking back up again. As "Nick Torres" actor Wilmer Valderrama (40) confirms with a photo on Instagram, the first table reads are taking place for NCIS.
Usually, the cast meets in the studio and goes through the script before filming. This time, however, something is different because of the novel coronavirus. Wilmer's photo shows the cast of the series in a video call.

In addition to Wilmer, you can also see Mark Harmon (69), Sean Murray (42), Brian Dietzen (42), David McCallum (86), Rocky Carroll (57), Emily Wickersham (36) and Diona Reasonover (28). Maria Bello (53) is also marked in the picture, but cannot be seen.
The team goes through the new scenes with the producers and directors in the photo. The former That '70s Show star wrote under the picture: "After 6 months of our industry shut down.. the first table read to #NCIS’s season 18 feels like the beginning of a road to progression, as we get closer to bringing our show back to your homes.
In many ways it feels like we, the cast and crew of our @ncis_cbs family.. are like astronauts embarking into the learning curb of a whole new world and reality.. here’s to a smooth lift off."
While the photo not only shows that the NCIS cast is hard at work again, it also presents a glimpse of the inside of the stars' homes. The fans can look forward to impressions from the houses of actors like Mark Harmon or David McCallum, who do not present their private lives on Instagram like some of the other stars.
In the next few days, the actors will be back on set. According to Deadline, production in the studio is expected to begin on September 9th.
