Would the John Wick movies have enjoyed as much success if they were titled... Scorn?
Well, that's nearly what the popular action-thriller franchise was titled! The film series only became known as John Wick after a repeated oversight by lead actor Keanu Reeves, who plays the title role.

John Wick: Keanu Reeves inadvertently chose the title
The movie's co-creator and writer Derek Kolstad revealed the outcome of Keanu's forgetfulness in a recent interview with Comicbook.com.
"The only reason it's called John Wick is that Keanu kept referring to it as John Wick," Kolstad explained, despite initial plans to go with the title Scorn.
After the popular actor teased his new "John Wick" project rather than the proper Scorn title, it stuck.
"Marketing was like, 'Dude, that's four to five million dollars in free advertising so far, so it's John Wick instead of Scorn.' I can't imagine it being Scorn now," he concluded.

Keanu Reeves' talents know no bounds
Though Keanu's title suggestion was an inadvertent contribution, his "John Wick" character has emerged as a box office hit in three films across five years.
The violent thrillers see "John Wick," a legendary former hitman, forced back into the criminal underworld after he's struck by personal tragedies and vengeful former acquaintances.
John Wick: Chapter 1 debuted in 2014, and has been followed by sequels in 2017 and 2019. Chapter 4 was also moved from 2021 to 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
