Books Turning Into Movies 2021

Starring Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, the classic Disney film and novel by Dodie Smith, 101 Dalmatians, will finally get its live-action adaptation in 2021. Set to be released May 28, 2021, Cruella will put the iconic villain "Cruella De Vil" into the spotlight this time!

Based on the John Preston novel and a true story, 2021's WWII film, The Dig, will star Carey Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes, Lily James, and Johnny Flynn. Audiences don't have long to wait as the film is set to be released on January 15, 2021.

French Exit will follow the story of a widow and her son who travel to Paris to spend the rest of their inherited money like there is no tomorrow. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges as the widowed mother and son duo, Patrick DeWitt's novel and screenplay, French Exit, is set to be released on February 12, 2021.

People's Sexiest Man Alive of 2020, Michael B. Jordan, will star in this next film adaptation of bestselling author Tom Clancy's Without Remorse. Also starring Jamie Bell and Jodie Turner-Smith, Without Remorse is set to be released exclusively on Prime Video February 26, 2021.

Nico Walker's semi-autobiographical novel, Cherry, is also due out this year and boasts a star-studded line-up including Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård, and Forrest Goodluck. Cherry is set to be released in theaters on Feburary 26, 2021 and will air on Apple TV+ March 12.

Due out May 14, 2021, the film adaptation of Bobby Crosby's highly anticipated graphic novel, Marry Me, will star Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, and Owen Wilson in the lead roles.

Revolving around a secret society that can remember their past lives, Infinite, based on the D. Eric Maikranz novel, The Reincarnationist Papers, is set to be action-packed with Mark Wahlberg taking the lead! Infinite will premiere on May 28, 2021.

The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager is sure to be a success. Not only will the film adaptation, The Last Duel, be action-packed but it will also star one of Hollywood's best dynamic duos, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Audiences can expect the film on October 15, 2021.

While Frank Herbert's classic, Dune, has proven to be a hard novel to adapt over the years, director Denis Villeneuve is well-prepared to take on the challenge. Villeneuve will spread out the course of the book's events in a two-part film series, as well as an HBO companion TV series, Dune: The Sisterhood. The first of the films is due out October 21, 2021, and will star Timothée Chalamet and Jason Momoa.

One of the year's most highly anticipated films is the adaptation of Kristin Hannah's best-selling historical-fiction novel, The Nightingale. Starring sister duo Dakota and Elle Fanning, The Nightingale will be released on December 22, 2021.
