Olivia Colman has joined the long list of celebrities who are giving back to an important cause through a special virtual event! As People shares, Colman made a donation to the Celebrity Bottom Drawer online auction, which is run by a British medical charity that aims to help young children and their families.

Colman offers up signed script from The Crown season finale

Colman chose to contribute by donating a signed script from the season 4 finale of The Crown. The actress has played "Queen Elizabeth" on the Netflix show for two seasons, and the episode— which is titled "War"— marks her last appearance in the role. As People mentions, it's also fitting that she's helping out a real life royal with her donation, since Duchess Kate is a patron of East Anglia Children's Hospices!

The British actress certainly isn't the only notable name to donate to the auction! All kinds of film, television, and music memorabilia is listed in the Celebrity Bottom Drawer online catalogue, including a special deluxe box set of items offered up by Cate Blanchett from her 2015 film Carol! Paul McCartney gave the auction a special microphone, while Ed Sheeran has also donated various pieces of clothing, as well as original artwork.

Celeb charity auction founder talks about impact of event

Colman won't be the last celebrity added to the auction either, since East Anglia Children's Hospices has said that Sunday will see the announcement of even more stars who are involved! As People mentions, the Celebrity Bottom Drawer auction was created by Griff Rhys Jones, who made a statement about the event's importance— especially this year, since the charity has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

"What we’ll give is a tiny thing for a huge and vital service. I’ve met parents and children at the Treehouse (EACH’s hospice in Ipswich). I’ve never been so overwhelmed," the actor and television personality shared. "It’s a place that buys precious time for people who really need it. Don’t be afraid. A hospice is not about death. It is about making the very most out of life and joy. If we can all get behind this auction, we can really help."

Those interested in checking out the Celebrity Bottom Drawer charity auction can go to the event's website here to browse the catalogue, as well as sign up to bid! So far, $80,000 has been raised for East Anglia Children's Hospices, with Sunday being the last day to put an offer in for any of the exciting pieces of memorabilia that are listed!
