Little has changed for Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and the Royal Family since the Oprah interview, according to one of the most trusted royal insiders.
Today, Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie gave an update on the drama within the family, and he doesn't believe that the Sussexes and the royals are anywhere near a reconciliation.
Royal Family, Harry and Meghan update after Oprah interview
It's been nearly six months since Oprah with Meghan and Harry, but Scobie today told GMA that "very little progress has been made" between the feuding parties since then.
The Finding Freedom author said this "feeling" is made clear to him when he speaks to sources close to Harry and Meghan and the Royal Family.
Scobie appeared on GMA to promote the new edition of the Harry and Meghan book Finding Freedom, which was released today.
It includes an epilogue that claims the Sussexes were "hurt" by the Queen's response to their accusations of racism and neglect. That Palace statement had said the allegations were "concerning" but that "recollections may vary."
All such claims made in Finding Freedom cite unnamed sources, and Meghan and Harry emphasized that when they threatened legal action against a UK newspaper this month after it quoted the book as if the couple was behind its writing.
In the meantime, there has yet to be an official update on talks or resolutions in the rift between Prince Harry and his family.
We're waiting on the findings of investigations into both the claims of racism against the royals and bullying accusations against Meghan.
Through it all, it doesn't sound like the Royal Family is getting any closer to reconciling. And it's been those closest to Harry — Prince Charles and Prince William — who appear to be the most at odds with him and Meghan.
