Prince William said that he would fully support his children if they told him that they are gay. When asked what he would do by a member of the Albert Kennedy Trust charity, he said "I support whatever decision they make, but it does worry me from a parent's point of view how many barriers, hateful words, persecution and discrimination that might come. That's the bit that troubles me a little bit."

William also mentioned that him and Duchess Catherine have already discussed how they would approach one of their children telling them they were LGBT, emphasizing that their only concern would be for any "hate of persecution" to be endured especially being in their high public positions as part of the British Royal Family.

Prince William has been supporting LGBT communities

Prince William has been the most open concerning discussions of LGBT issues out of any member of the royal family to date. This in turn is very powerful when it comes to recognizing the issues that the LGBT community still face in society today and having such a strong supportive voice like Prince William to advocate.

AKT ambassadors were very pleased with Prince William's responses and his concerns. One member said, "I thought his answer was so good, to hear him talk about having fears about what people might think of his children and how they might take to them, if they identified as LGBT."
