Although Prince William has not made a public comment about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's announcement yet, it has become apparent within the last couple of days that William (and most of his family) were not particularly amused about his brother's solo action.

But the Duke of Cambridge has since apparently expressed his feelings to a friend, as The Sunday Times reported yesterday. According to said friend, William has privately talked about the "sadness" he feels that there is a distance between the two brothers like never before.
Prince William: "We're separate entities..."
"I've put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can't do that any more; we’re separate entities," William told his friend according to The Sunday Times.
But Prince William has not lost hope, as he told his friend: "All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we’re all singing from the same page. I want everyone to play on the team."
Prince William and Prince Harry: Showdown at Sandringham?
It is, of course, quite possible that Prince Harry's face-to-face meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince William on Monday at Sandringham will help clear the air between the brothers and the rest of the family.
But according to royal historian Robert Lacey, the distance between William and Harry was inevitable. "After the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, the two brothers were thrown together by the tragedy of their childhood," Lacey told PEOPLE.
"But it's inevitable, as they grow up and develop different personalities, that synchronicity won't apply anymore." We will see how Monday's meeting goes - maybe the brothers will find a way to grow closer again.
