Princes Harry and William broke Royal protocol by asking each other to be their respective best men at their weddings. At William's wedding back in 2011, Prince Harry performed his duties with flying colors.
Prince Harry at Prince William's Wedding
Claire Jones, the harpist that performed for Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding reception opened up to People about Prince Harry and William's jokes and speeches.
She explained that the Duke of Cambridge "made a loverly little remark about me. The first thing he said to me was, 'Did you hear what I said in my speech?' I said I did, but I asked him to remind me because I hadn't heard it all. He said, 'Thank goodness Claire turned up to play the harp because otherwise, we'd have to get my brother to play it instead."
She raved about Prince Harry who "thought that was hilarious." The Duke of Sussex left a great impression on Claire, "He was very accommodating and warm. I wished them well, and I said I hoped they could have a happy and joyful life together."
"The first member of the royal family to thank me was Prince Harry. He was really, really down-to-Earth, very friendly and easy to talk to. Straight away he said, 'Thank you for being here and taking the time to play. It sounds wonderful.'"
Prince Harry's Wedding Speech
The royal biographer Ingrid Seward told News.com.au, "[Harry] called William the 'perfect brother', referred to him as 'dude' several times, called his relationship with Kate 'inspirational', and, to huge applause, added: 'William didn't have a romantic bone in his body before he met Kate, so I knew it was serious when he started cooing down the phone.'"
This reportedly brought emotional Kate to tears as she was so moved by her new brother-in-law's words. On top of his sweet words, he did a fun imitation of Duchess Kate at the end of the night. "According to late-night revellers leaving the party, Harry then did a high-pitched impersonation of Kate calling William one of her favourite nicknames 'Big Willy' and one of his brother calling her 'Babykins', to much hilarity from the guests."
Prince Harry and his sister-in-law have always been very close, he accepted and welcomed her into the family very quickly and the three gravitate to each other at every royal event. Luckily, the strained relationships between the royal brothers appear to be already on the mend.
