Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wish to be completely removed from British royalty will come true very soon. However, this will not be because of their repeated attempts to distance themselves from the royal family, but rather the result of a plan that Prince Charles is preparing.
Harry and Meghan to be "ditched" from royalty?
One of the plans Prince Charles has in mind after his eventual ascension to the British throne would completely alienate Harry and Meghan from royalty. In an attempt to save money on royal expenses for British taxpayers, Charles is said to be cutting the royal budget to only include those in the immediate monarchy, not including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
According to experts consulted by The Daily Mail, the Prince of Wales is considering limiting the royal budget paid by British society to a couple of indispensable members of the royal family. This plan would reportedly only include his direct heir— Prince William— and his family.
"Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer," expert Angela Levin explained on talkRADIO. "I imagine that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal family."
Prince Charles begins to prepare for his ascension to the throne
Although Queen Elizabeth had kept Prince Harry's return to the royal family a possibility, her heir's plans could rule this out for good. "I think the outer edge, which the Queen has wanted to keep together for a very long time for sentimental reasons, which at her age she didn't really particularly want change which I think is understandable." Levin said.
After the death of Prince Philip, British media reported that Charles and William will meet soon to plan the future of the royal family and prepare for the queen's eventual passing. However, this will be a future that Harry, Meghan, Archie, and their future daughter will not figure into— not even in a minimal capacity.
