It seems Prince Charles and pop star Katy Perry have some things in common! The Prince of Wales and the American singer attended an event in Mumbai, India, honouring the British Asian Trust, a charitable organisation the Prince of Wales founded more than ten years ago in order to help address poverty and inequality in South Asia.
Clarence House posted a couple of pictures on Instagram of Prince Charles' 10th visit to India, including one of him wearing a navy suit matched with a blue and white tie, with Katy Perry who looked stunning on a blue floral print dress. The image reads, "The Prince of Wales attended a meeting of @thebritishasiantrust in Mumbai today. Musician @katyperry had heard about the work of the Trust and joined other supporters to learn more about the charity. The Trust, which HRH set up in 2007, aims to tackle widespread poverty and inequality in South Asia."
Katy Perry wished happy birthday to Prince Charles
The Dark Horse singer posted the same picture on Instagram, wishing happy birthday to the Prince of Wales, who turned 71 years old on Thursday. "Happiest 71st His Royal Highness Prince Charles @clarencehouse. It was a pleasure spending a little time with you and many brilliant Indian minds looking for incredible solutions to making India a more wonderful place through your organization," she wrote. Royal fans were surprised to see them together and thrilled to see how the British family does so much work for others.
Duchess Camilla didn't join Prince Charles this time, but they will reunite this Sunday for their New Zealand tour, which will conclude on November 23. Before setting off for India, the Prince of Wales shared a post on Instagram, paying tribute to the Indian Sikh community in the UK.
