Katy Perry is an American singer and songwriter, who since 2008 has positioned herself as one of the most important pop figures worldwide. Katy has sold around 16 million albums in her career as well as 135 million singles, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Katy has also served as a judge on the talent show American Idol.

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, better known as Katy Perry, was born on October 25, 1984. After being interested in music since her childhood, Perry managed to sign with Red Hill Records to release her debut album, titled Katy Hudson, in 2001, which did not achieve much success. It was in 2007 when Katy signed a contract with Capitol Records, and in 2008 she managed to make the leap to fame thanks to her first material under the name Katy Perry: One of the Boys, with which she managed to have international hits such as "I Kissed a Girl" or "Hot n Cold". This material was followed by "Teenage Dream", with which Katy had even more success thanks to songs such as "California Girls", "Teenage Dream", or "Firework"; five of the six singles from that album were placed at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, thus becoming the first female artist to achieve such an accomplishment, as only Michael Jackson had achieved it with his album Bad. Until 2020, Katy has released five studio materials and triumphed thanks to other songs such as "Part of Me", "Dark Horse", "This is How We Do" or "Chained to the Rhythm". Katy is the only woman in U.S. history with three diamond certifications with three different singles; she has sold around 16 million albums and 135 million singles in her career, in addition to winning five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, a BRIT Award, among other awards.

Katy Perry's Relationships

Katy Perry was in a relationship with British comedian and actor Russell Brand, to whom she became engaged in December 2009. The couple got married in October 2010, in India. However, after a little more than a year of marriage, Katy and Russell separated, so their divorce was finalized in 2012. After that marriage, Katy had a relationship with singer-songwriter John Mayer, a relationship that ended in 2014. From 2016, Perry began a relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she got engaged in 2019. In 2020, Katy Perry became pregnant, and in August 2020 she and Orlando welcomed their first daughter: Daisy Dove Bloom.
