It should come as no surprise that this infamous interview makes the list! Anyone that was alive in 1995 watched this interview, and the world was shocked to hear some of the most revealing information about Princess Diana and her marriage to Prince Charles and life with their sons.

Sitting down with BBC's journalist Martin Bashir, the sorrowful looking Diana talked about her struggle within the Royal family, and expressed that there was more going on behind the scenes with the iconic and memorable quote, "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded," referring of course to Charles affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, but later also admitted to her own infidelity.

It is also said that following this interview, Princess Diana was further ostracized by her in-laws, particularly Princess Margaret, with whom she shared a close bond with.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana

One would imagine when you're newly engaged you would only have great things to say about love and affection for your future spouse, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case in this 1981 interview with Princess Diana and Prince Charles.

Finally announcing their engagement, Diana and Charles were seen snuggling up together while they answered questions in regards to their relationship. It was a bit awkward, and one wouldn't be surprised by that when taken into consideration they only actually spent time together 13 times prior, but it was a response Charles gave that really struck a nerve.

When asked if they were in love, Princess Diana simply said, "Of course," before Charles followed up quickly, "Whatever love means." The lack of intimacy was very prevalent in the couple.

It was later revealed in Diana's memoir how she felt about that interview saying, "That threw me completely. I thought, 'what a strange answer'. It traumatized me."

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle is no stranger to the tabloids, but before her separation from Royal engagements in 2021, Markle revealed in a very candid interview while on a trip to South Africa, that she in fact was struggling managing being a new mother in the midst of all the press.

During this quick interview, a journalist asked Markle if she was okay, to which she responded, "Any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable. So, that was made really challenging, and, then when you have a newborn, and especially as a woman, it's a lot."

She then paused and added, "Also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm okay," she said, "But it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes." When the interviewer pressed further and asked if she was indeed struggling, Markle just simply replied, "Yes".

This candid response gave viewers an inside glimpse into the new mother, and it was refreshingly honest. Little did we know that a year and a half later, she would reveal just how much she was struggling.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry has had a few candid interviews as of late, but it should come as no surprise that in his latest show, The Me You Can't See, the Prince opens up about even more behind-the-scenes drama in his family.

Going on to explain the after-effects of his mother's passing, to his own struggles with mental health, it seems that Harry held nothing back. Harry also dived into his past addiction problems, revealing he used drugs and alcohol to cope with his constant anxiety attacks.

He then went on to express how he feels about his father, implying that he felt mistreated saying that, "When it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I'm going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don't pass it on."

Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew was in some hot water surrounding the Jeffery Epstein case, and sitting down with a BBC reporter inside Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew tackled some hard-hitting questions in regards to his involvement in his relationship with the high profile sex trafficker, Jeffery Epstein.

Allegations surrounding the Prince and his involvement circulated when a young woman, Virginia Giuffre, claimed she was trafficked at just 17 years old and was made to have sex with the Royal three times between 2000 and 2001.

Prince Andrew simply responded to these allegations saying, "That's the bit that… as it were, I kick myself for on a daily basis because it was not something that was becoming of a member of the royal family and we try and uphold the highest standards and practices and I let the side down, simple as that."

Prince Andrew claimed that he had no recollection of ever meeting Virginia, saying that despite her recollection of him sweating it was "impossible" as he has a medical condition following his time in the army that prevents it from happening. Shortly after the explosive interview, a photo of a younger Andrew shot in 2000 went viral. He was sweating in the photo.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Perhaps one of the most famous and most recent Rotal interview happened earlier in 2021, when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey to talk about Meghan's treatment in the press.

The interview was explosive. Among the most shocking was Meghan's tell-all exposure of her mental health, and how the Royal family responded to her when she said that the constant attacks of her in the press made her suicidal. When she went forward for help, she was simply told it would make the family look bad and to just deal with it. Harry added, "There was an opportunity, many opportunities, for my family to show support... No one from my family said anything."

Furthermore, conversations around "how dark" Archie would be were had, and that the littlest Royal would be denied security. It was later revealed in the same interview that Princess Diana left behind a sum of money to her sons, almost as if she predicted, or even wanted, them to leave the Royal duties.

Prince Charles

Before Princess Diana had her chance to let it all out, Prince Charles took an opportunity to express some of his own thoughts of his marriage in a BBC documentary in 1994.

The Prince of Wales explained where it all started with his affair, and openly admitted to his adoration for Camilla Parker Bowles, admitting when asked if he was faithful, "Yes… Until it became irretrievably broken down, us both having tried."

The Royal family is no stranger to controversy and of course, the public loves to be let in on this elusive family! From lies, affairs, and sex scandals, the Royal family proves that there's no safe place to hide, and that includes each other!

One of the most famous is of course Princess Diana in 1995 sitting down with a BBC journalist to discuss her marriage, quoting the well-remembered line, "There were three of us in this marriage so it was a bit crowded".

The well-loved Lady Di didn't hold anything back and talked about her marriage so candidly, it caused quite the stir within the family and the world.

Following in her footsteps, Meghan Markle also didn't hold anything back, revealing in a couple of interviews how she was feeling being a part of the family.

Talking about postpartum depression, racism, and extreme expectations she had faced, the now-ex Royal revealed a lot about what was happening behind closed doors, and it comes as no surprise that she and her hubby, Prince Harry, decided to leave.
