The Prince's children, especially Prince George, are the ones driving Prince William's environmental mission, the royal has said in the new ITV documentary Prince William: A Planet for Us All. In the future, the Duke of Cambridge wants to be able to tell Prince George (7) what he did to help the planet.

Prince William also describes how his ancestors inspire him and that he wants to follow into his father and his grandfather's footsteps, who have been ahead of their time in tackling conservation issues.
"My grandfather, my father, have been in environmental work for many years. My grandfather's well ahead of his time. My father, ahead of his time. And I really want to make sure that, in 20 years, George doesn't turn round and say, 'are you ahead of your time?' Because if he does, we’re too late."
In the documentary, the Duke of Cambridge explains his connections to nature and the outdoors as well as how he owes Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis that their voices be heard.
"That generational gap has to be bridged somehow so that the older political leaders understand that the younger generation mean business. I feel it is my duty and our collective responsibility to leave our planet in a stronger position for our children."
