- Prince Harry was in a relationship with Cressida Bonas
- Learn how she broke his heart
- This was before Harry met Meghan
Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas were introduced by Princess Eugenie in 2012 and had a two-year relationship that ended amicably in 2014. Many believed that the British socialite could have been the one walking down the aisle to marry Prince Harry, who was truly in love with her.
Bonas was actually really close to becoming the Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry reportedly never stopped talking about marriage and having kids with her when they were together as a couple. However, the relationship didn't work quite well after Bonas realized that she didn't want to marry the royal family, even though she was reportedly the "typical royal bride", and even though she is best friends with Prince William and Prince Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie.
Cressida Bonas broke Prince Harry's heart in 2014
It was in 2014 when Cressida Bonas broke Prince Harry's heart and ended her relationship with him, but Prince Harry reportedly didn't want to end things: "He was in love with her and he tried to convince her they could make it work, but Cressida’s mind was made up," explained author Katie Nicholl in Harry: Life, Loss and Love; "she called the relationship off because she knew in her heart this wasn’t what she wanted", added Nicholl.
