Duchess Kate has revealed why parenting during lockdown comes with its own unique set of challenges! As People shares, the Duchess of Cambridge recently chatted with parents across the United Kingdom in a special video call, opening up about the various extra tasks she's been learning for her kids!
Duchess Kate talks about having to take on new roles
Duchess Kate has been spending the third U.K. lockdown at Anmer Hall with Prince William and their three kids— Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. As People mentions, Kate and William have also been taking video calls and working from the queen's personal estate, Sandringham House.
The Duchess of Cambridge revealed it's been a challenge to take on added parenting responsibilities due to the current situation with the pandemic! "As parents, we have day-to-day elements of being a parent," she explained, "but, I suppose, during lockdown we've had to take on additional roles that others in our communities or in our lives would have helped us with."
Duchess Kate admits she isn't great at mathematics
Duchess Kate then went on to talk about some of the unlikely professions she's had to adopt while staying home with her children! "I've become a hairdresser this lockdown, much to my children's horror," the royal revealed. "We've had to become teachers. I, personally, feel pulled in so many different directions."
And even though she's currently responsible for educating her kids, Kate admits that she isn't exactly the best when it comes to one subject in particular— mathematics! "I'm obviously right at the bottom!" she exclaimed, saying that her math abilities rank at a "-5". Last year, Kate also talked about teaching her kids from home, explaining what lessons they've been learning.
As People mentions, Kate also shared that her biggest support throughout this difficult time has been none other than William! Many other families echoed the sentiment, talking about the loved ones who have been there for them. And as Kensington Palace mentioned on Instagram, the video call also touched on the importance of mental health when it comes to both parents and children!
