Mary-Kate Olsen's desire to have kids of her own may have been a key source of conflict in her relationship with husband Olivier Sarkozy! As People reports, a source claims that the couple deciding whether or not they should have children together was a contentious issue. The source said that while Sarkozy already has two kids and didn't want to have more, Olsen did.
"A few years ago, having a baby was not a priority for her," the source explained. "This has changed." Another source expressed a similar sentiment to People, explaining that Olsen expected her husband would eventually come around. "Olivier has two grown kids and doesn’t want more," the fashion source said. "Mary-Kate thought he would budge on that and he hasn’t."

Source says Olsen and Sarkozy "ended up being apart quite a bit"
Olsen officially requested an emergency order to file for divorce from Sarkozy on May 13, after having previously been denied by the New York City court because of the coronavirus crisis. She claimed that Sarkozy was trying to force her out of their shared apartment, but according to People, her request was once again denied by a judge.

While the topic of having kids was certainly an issue for the couple, sources reveal to People that Olsen and Sarkozy also led very different lifestyles. "Olivier is a party boy and a big spender," a banking source shared. "He loves the high life." Olsen, on the other hand, is much more introverted and reclusive.
"Mary-Kate prefers to be quiet and alone and doing the things she likes," a fashion source revealed. "She’s not that interested in socializing—she likes small gatherings with select people. They ended up being apart quite a bit."
