• Jim Carrey on "Grinch" return
  • Motion capture as a solution
  • This is what we know

Jim Carrey (62), known for his iconic portrayal of the grumpy green goblin in "The Grinch", recently expressed his interest in a possible sequel.

However, the actor has one condition: He wants to take on the role without elaborate makeup. In an interview with 'Comic Book', Carrey revealed: "Oh, gosh, you know, if we could figure out the Grinch. The thing about it is, on the day, I do that with a ton of makeup and can hardly breathe. It was an extremely excruciating process."

The effort Carrey put in for the role of 'The Grinch' in 2000 was enormous. The actor had to spend hours a day in a full-body suit and heavy make-up.

Nevertheless, Carrey is thinking about taking on the role again if modern technologies were to be used. "And now, with motion capture and things like that, I could be free to do other things. Anything is possible in this world," Carrey continued.

The motion capture process could offer Carrey the opportunity to embody the "Grinch" without the physical limitations of makeup. With this technique, the actor's movements are captured digitally and transferred to a model. Here's hoping for a live-action 'Grinch' return!
