The Bachelor is back for another exciting season, and this time around, the series has a brand-new host! The season 28 premiere introduced audiences to Jesse Palmer, and if you want to find out more about him, you've come to the right place. Here are some key facts about the star!
Palmer is a former Bachelor contestant and pro athlete
Palmer has personal experience with The Bachelor, looking for love on the show back in 2004. He also has the unique distinction of being the youngest "Bachelor"! While he didn't end up with Jessica Bowlin, who he picked at the end of season 5, he has said that they "shared an incredible romantic journey" during their time together. Palmer is now married to model Emely Fardo, and the two tied the knot in October 2021.
On top of being The Bachelor's youngest male lead, Palmer was also the first professional athlete to join the series. He played for two NFL teams before appearing on the show, as quarterback for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. After The Bachelor, the Toronto-born athlete continued his football career in his home country of Canada. In 2006, he was signed to the CFL and played for the Montreal Alouettes.
Palmer has also hosted a few shows on Food Network in the past. Back in 2012, the star said he "can listen to people talk about food all day long," and revealed that he loves "anything chocolate." Dessert isn't Palmer's only sweet spot either! He and his wife have an adorable puppy named LouLou, who he frequently shares photos of on social media. Now that fans know who's stepping into Chris Harrison's shoes after his departure from The Bachelor, we're excited to see what Palmer brings to the show!
