News broke yesterday that Gilmore Girls actress Lauren Graham had signed on to play a coach in Disney+'s new The Mighty Ducks ten-episode series. Now it appears as though Graham's coach may have some competition - or possibly an ally - in Emilio Estevez's "Gordon Bombay"!
Estevez starred in the original The Mighty Ducks film trilogy in the 1990s. His coach "Gordon Bombay" is now set to return for the new Disney+ reboot. The actor, also remembered for his role in The Breakfast Club, confirmed the news Thursday.

Emilio Estevez: The actor portrays his iconic role in a new series
In the new series, Lauren Graham will star as the mother of a player who is a hopeful to make the Mighty Ducks. Since the original films, the Mighty Ducks have evolved into a highly competitive hockey team.
In the spirit of the original Mighty Ducks, Graham and her son instead go about forming their own team of underdogs after the boy is cut from the Mighty Ducks.
It's so far unclear if "Bombay" still coaches the original Mighty Ducks team, or if he could provide assistance to the new underdog team - let's hope it's the latter!
