Princess Diana wore many famous dresses over the years, but her best-known one just might be the "Revenge Dress."
She wore the black cocktail dress in 1994. Meanwhile, The Crown is currently filming season 5, which will cover the Royal Family in the '90s. The dress will feature in the new season and there's now a first look from the set.
The Crown: Princess Diana actress recreates Revenge Dress
Actress Elizabeth Debicki is taking over as the Princess of Wales in season 5. Here's the first look at the star recreating the Revenge Dress look.
Debicki is seen emerging from a car in a near-identical version of Diana's famous outfit. She wore the low-cut black dress, paired with a flashy pearl necklace, to a gala event in June 1994.
It became known by its nickname because Diana wore the unusually daring look the same day Prince Charles went public about being unfaithful to her.
They had been legally separated since 1992 and would finalize their divorce two years later in 1996.
The Crown season 5 release date is in 2022
For fans of The Crown, the new season won't be coming out until November 2022. The series had to break its run of one season per year due to delays during the pandemic.
But we now have several looks at the new cast members as the Royal Family, from Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and now this latest look at the Revenge Dress.
