Saturday Night Live is coming back to television with a brand new episode after its unexpected hiatus! However, seeing as people are still practicing social distancing to keep themselves and their loved ones safe, this Saturday's show isn't going to look like a typical Saturday Night Live episode. That's because instead of being filmed live in studio, the SNL cast will have pre-recorded the episode through a video conference!
As Entertainment Tonight reports, original material for April 11th's SNL— including popular segments like "Weekend Update"— will still be included. The SNL cast members are set to produce this content from their own homes while being quarantined, and the show is promoting the upcoming episode on social media using the hashtag #SNLAtHome.

SNL cast members have been creating content during hiatus
Saturday Night Live cast members having to manufacture original content out of their own homes shouldn't be a problem, as they've already gotten quite creative while in isolation! SNL regular Chloe Fineman's impersonation of Tiger King's Carole Baskin garnered attention from celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Mandy Moore. She also produced a wedding skit with Casey Thomas Brown during an Instagram live!
The most recent episode of SNL aired on March 17th, featuring Daniel Craig as the host and musical performances from The Weeknd. Prior to SNL's unforeseen hiatus, John Krasinski was supposed to serve as host of the show on March 28th, with Dua Lipa as the musical guest. Even though the format of the sketch comedy show will be different upon its return, fans will no doubt be excited to have SNL back on their screens!
