Daniel Wroughton Craig is an English actor best known for his role as James Bond. He has portrayed the British secret agent in a total of five Bond films, including the 2020s No Time To Die. The Bond franchise has produced some of the highest-grossing films of all time, including Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).
Craig realized he had wanted to act at a young age; he had already begun acting in school plays at age 6, and by the age of 16, he attended National Youth Theatre in London. He then graduated in 1991 from the esteemed Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He had his first screen role in 1992's The Power of One and worked his way up through smaller British television and movie roles.
In the 90s, Craig appeared in films such as Besessene Seelen, Love and Rage, or Elizabeth, while in the 2000s he was part of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Road to Perdition, The Mother, Layer Cake and Munich. However, it was in 2006 when he made the leap in his career after being chosen to play "James Bond", becoming the sixth actor to give life to such role in the successful franchise. Since then, Daniel has starred in five 007 films: Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2020). Craig has become one of the most critically acclaimed actors for this character, as well as one of the audience's favorites. For his work as "James Bond" Craig even got a nomination at the 2006 BAFTA Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role. As a result of his portrayal of the same character, Daniel also went on to become one of the highest-paid British celebrities, to the extent that he is also one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood.
Since starring in the Bond films, Daniel Craig has taken on many other action film roles, including Defiance (2008), The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and Cowboys & Aliens (2011). Craig was married to actress Fiona Loudon from 1992-1994, and share a daughter together. He is now married to British-American actress, Rachel Weisz, since 2011. In September 2018, the couple welcomed their first child together.
