Idris Elba has long been a rumoured candidate to take over as "James Bond."
Daniel Craig's last film No Time to Die finally came out in October, but there's still no word on who will play "007" next. However, it appears that Elba may be out of the running, because a new report says he could play the villain in the next film.
Is Idris Elba the next "James Bond"... villain?
According to the UK Sun, Elba had "informal" talks with the Bond team, and they've let him know that the villain role in the next film is his — if he wants it. The report noted that these are "early" conversations, however.
Elba's name has been in the mix for the next "007" alongside others like Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and Tom Hiddleston. But, even if Elba doesn't get the role of the iconic agent, he would make a stellar Bond villain.
Craig has been filling the role since Casino Royale in 2006. Please watch the video above for the latest Bond rumours and where Idris Elba fits in today.
