In The Undoing, Kidman stars as a therapist whose life is severely altered after an unexpected death. Hugh Grant plays the husband of Kidman's character in the series.

Susanne Bier is attached as director for all six episodes of the series. Bier is best-known for directing Bird Box, which received considerable attention when it streamed on Netflix in late 2018. The Undoing will be another English language production from Bier, a Danish director who has been producing critically-acclaimed films for over three decades. HBO shared a glimpse of several new production stills from The Undoing on its Instagram account today.
