A month ago the shooting of the new season of Grey's Anatomy resumed. Now the producers have released another trailer for the new episodes on YouTube.
Grey's Anatomy Season 17: This is what's coming
When ABC announced that filming for season 17 had started, it was said that the new episodes would address the coronavirus pandemic. A further insight now shows that the coming season starts with a crossover episode with the series Station 19.
After the first Grey's Anatomy trailer for season 17 promised drama, the new teaser shows us what will happen in the first episode. There seems to have been a major fire that is first fought by the crew of Station 19. The doctors at "Grey Sloan Hospital" take care of the victims from the fire.
This is how Grey's Anatomy deals with the pandemic
In fact, the network's promise also seems to be coming true. Because in different scenes we see the Grey's Anatomy doctors with special protective masks. These are used to filter out contaminated air so that the doctors can operate around infected people. During other treatments and around the hospital, the actors always wear normal mouth and nose protection.
On the YouTube show Quaranstreaming: Comfort TV That Keeps Us Going, showrunner Krista Vernoff (46) revealed that "Owen Hunt" (Kevin McKidd, 47) would play a key role in the new season, especially concerning the outbreak of a pandemic.
Grey's Anatomy doctors in shock
"Owen" seems to be the only one in the new teaser to seem calm and prepared. The rest of the doctors, however, have panic written on their faces. The voice-over on the clip also relates to the current situation: "It's a war zone and we're the ones on the front line. […] What we're up against now, is unlike anything that came before."
The new episode will air in the U.S. on November 12th on ABC.
