- It's cancellation season in the TV world
- Netflix has axed a popular show
- The Baby-Sitters Club is cancelled
Sad news for fans of The Baby-Sitters Club: Netflix has cancelled the show after just two seasons. The second season was released in October 2021, but Netflix won't pick up the show for another, Deadline announced today.
Netflix cancels The Baby-Sitters Club two seasons in
The Baby-Sitters Club received excellent reviews in its two seasons, including an impressive 100% rating for season 2 from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans have also rated the series a decent 7.4/10 on IMDb.
In spite of all this, the youth series didn't establish a strong enough viewership, which is why Netflix is pulling the plug, reports Deadline. Sadly, that seems to be the case all too often.
Also interesting:
The Baby-Sitters Club was based on the novels of the same name by author Ann M. Martin. Netflix adapted it for TV in 2020. Season 2 followed in the autumn of last year.
With streamers, you never know when a cancelled series could get revived elsewhere. Fans on social media are already upset at the news, so we'll see what happens with The Baby-Sitters Club.
