Neil Patrick Harris (48) started his career in Hollywood as a child star in the series Doogie Houser M.D. Nowadays he is mostly known for his role as "Barney" in the series How I Met Your Mother. Neil was popular in the series on screens around the world from 2005 to 2014.
Now, he has recently gotten a role in the newest Matrix film, titled Resurrections - and appears to have changed his appearance for the role. The otherwise comedic “Barney” has now taken on a serious, dark character, which also suits Neil Patrick Harris very well. This is particularly evident in a promo picture that the actor shared on Instagram.

Not much is known about Neil Patrick Harris's role in the fourth part of The Matrix. In general, the storyline and overall plot of the film has been kept pretty secret.
In the trailer for the new Matrix film, Neil Patrick Harris's character is a therapist who treats "Neo". Many fans already suspect that Harris' character could be one of the villains of the new film. It remains to be seen whether this will be the case.
For the most part, the actor has been keeping a low profile about his new role. We will have to wait and see for ourselves when the new Matrix film opens in theaters on December 23, 2021.
