It's been a few weeks since "Gibbs" (Mark Harmon) left NCIS. Of course, his team was sad after his departure, but one agent is taking the situation particularly hard.
NCIS: "Torres" hit hard by the exit of "Gibbs"
"Torres" (Wilmer Valderrama) is having a real emotional crisis. In this week's episode, the NCIS agent separates himself more and more from his team members.
"Torres" cancels on plans and doesn't seem to feel any love for the job anymore. It goes so far that "Torres" gets in a cage fight where he sustains multiple injuries.
Only a heart-to-heart conversation with "Palmer" (Brian Dietzen) gets the agent to open up.
"Palmer" tells him: "We all care about you, 'Nick,' but you don't have to explain yourself to me. I get it." He adds: "You feel abandoned. You feel left behind. Trust me, I do get that."
Palmer knows what he's talking about. After all, he lost his wife "Breena" (Michelle Pierce) to COVID-19 last season.
The doctor further adds: "Sometimes people leave, even fathers, and it's got nothing to do with you."
"Torres" has a complicated relationship with his own father, and "Gibbs" became a sort of father figure to him over the years. That's why the exit hits him particularly hard.
It seems "Torres" takes his colleague's words to heart, but it remains to be seen if he will follow his advice.
Fans are also wondering if all the drama could lead to "Torres" exiting the show.
Actor Wilmer Valderrama recently joined a new Zorro series, so we'll have a close eye on "Torres" the rest of the season.
