The second last episode of NCIS' season 17 ("Blarney") actually took place on St. Patrick's day, but after a delay because of the Democratic Presidential Debate as well as another hiatus, the St. Paddy's day episode aired a little closer to Easter than the producers probably intended.

Nonetheless, it was a tense hour of television, directed by NCIS' very own Rocky Carroll, who usually works in front of the camera as "Leon Vance", Director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Now, let's get to the recap of season 17, episode 19: "Blarney".
NCIS Season 17 Episode 19: Breakfast gone wrong...
A body is found in a dumpster behind a local D.C. diner and "Jimmy Palmer" (Brian Dietzen) has some time to kill before he can examine the dead guy so he heads to the diner where he meets "Kasie" (Diona Reasonover). They decide to sit down for some pancakes - bad idea!
A jewelry heist across the street goes wrong and the three robbers (the dead guy in the dumpster used to be their fourth crew member, by the way) head to the diner where "Kasie" and "Jimmy" become their hostages.
While these two tend to one of the robbers, who was shot during their heist gone wrong, "Gibbs" (Mark Harmon), "Torres" (Wilmer Valderrama) and "Bishop" (Emily Wickersham) manage to find out as much as they can about the perps and their plan so they can maybe persuade them to let their colleagues go.
Another shoot-out ensues, this time inside the diner, as the cook (also trapped in there) pulls his ankle-gun on the robbers and takes one of them down, but gets shot himself. "Gibbs" wants to take action, but it turns out "Palmer" and "Kasie" need no help - they play some mind games with the two remaining bad guys and manage to save the day!
While we're surprised that "Gibbs" held off so long, it was great to see some more of "Kasie Hines" and "Jimmy Palmer", as they got some quality time with each other. Sadly, next week will see the season finale of NCIS since the season had to be cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The last episode of NCIS season 17 airs on Tuesday, April 7 at 8pm (7 central) on CBS.
