For the 17th season of NCIS, "Ziva" (Coté de Pablo, 40), who was believed dead, came back. We've already seen her in two episodes so far and the third NCIS episode with "Ziva" is airing on December 17. The last episode with the actress will be broadcast in January.
NCIS: A reunion of "Tony" and "Ziva"?
Season 17's 10th episode ("The North Pole"), which will be broadcast on December 17, will see "Gibbs" (Mark Harmon, 68) and the team helping "Ziva" with "the one thing" she has to do before she can go back to her family, as CBS puts it in their official logline.
Does that suggest a reunion of "Ziva" and "Tony" (Michael Weatherly, 51)? Recently, "Gibbs" wanted to talk to Weatherly's character and when "Tony" eventually called his old boss back, "Ziva" said that she also wanted to talk to her former partner.
"Ziva" and "Tony" were fan favorites on NCIS before Coté de Pablo left the series in 2013 and Weatherly made his exit in 2016. They were very close and even have a daughter together named "Tali". Just one more scene with the two of them together would be a huge deal for the fan community.

NCIS: Will "Ziva" die?
In addition, NCIS' "Kasie Hines" (Diona Reasonover, 27) told TV Insider about the new episode: "'Ziva', 'Gibbs', [and] the whole team really and truly have to put this case front and center because if they don't, someone will die." Whether she is alluding to "Ziva" is not yet clear.
NCIS producer Frank Cardea confirmed to Parade that "Ziva" will only have four appearances in season 17, but he didn't reveal whether she will live or die.
Although one character might need to die in the season 17 finale, this does not mean "Ziva". According to TV Insider, Maria Bello, who plays the forensic psychologist "Jack Sloane", could leave the show since her three-year contract expires at the end of season 17.
