As Italy has recently become the epicenter for the coronavirus outside of Asia, Entertainment Weekly reports that this also affects a prominent Hollywood production currently taking place in Venice.
Mission: Impossible 7, led by actor and producer Tom Cruise, suspended production on Monday due to the looming threat of the virus in northern Italy.
Paramount Pictures are letting crew "return home"
The studio behind the seventh installment of the popular franchise made a statement to EW on Monday, in which they revealed they would be "altering the production" plan after public gatherings were shut down by the local government.

"Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and efforts of the local Venetian government to halt public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three week shoot in Venice, the scheduled first leg of an extensive production for Mission: Impossible 7," the statement reads.

The statement continues: "During this hiatus we want to be mindful of the concerns of the crew and are allowing them to return home until production starts. We will continue to monitor this situation, and work alongside health and government officials as it evolves."
A tough break for such a big production, but the health of all the people involved sure has to come first in such a case. Northern Italy has seen seven confirmed deaths so far from the virus, with the number of cases at over 220 already, after only three confirmed cases were reported last Friday!
