- 'Moana' is being remade
- The Disney film hit theatres in 2016
- HE will be back
Another live-action film adaptation is on Disney's list: 'Moana' from 2016 is now also set to be revived. A mega Hollywood star is also part of the production team! He confirmed this himself via Twitter.
"I'm proud to say we're bringing the beautiful story of Moana to the live-action big screen," said Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who lent his voice to the demigod "Maui" in the animation.

"I am honoured to work with Disney Studios to tell our story through the realm of music and dance, which at its core is who we are as Polynesian people," the actor continues.
Growing up in Hawaii, Johnson has a lot in common with the Disney classic. He makes it clear on Instagram that it is a project close to his heart:
"I proudly wear our culture on my skin and in my soul. And this unique opportunity to reunite with 'Maui', inspired by the spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that means very deeply to me,” Johnson says.
Also interesting:
It is not yet known whether Dwayne Johnson will appear in front of the camera for the film. But not everyone is as optimistic as the Hollywood star. Some voices were raised in surprise that 'Moana' is already getting a live-action adaptation.
Some say Disney should instead work on new ideas again. "Please no, it's too early... The animated hasn't even hit its first decade... What we need is Moana 2, not another live action," says one comment under "The Rock's" Instagram post.
