"Gibbs" Comeback On 'NCIS'? See What One Cast Member Says!

Ever since "Gibbs" left NCIS in season 19, we've heard whispers about a comeback by actor Mark Harmon. Whether it's a cameo, a guest episode, or more, it has yet to happen. We haven't seen "Gibbs" on NCIS since way back in 2021. The long-time boss left his team for a new life in Alaska. But now it sounds like we haven't seen the last of "Gibbs." That's according to "Leon Vance" actor Rocky Carroll...

NCIS star Rocky Carroll shared an interesting teaser about "Gibbs" in a new interview. Noting that it's now the show's 20th anniversary season, Carroll told TV Insider: "We might see Gibbs again. I think as long as this show stays on the air, there will always be a little bit of a tease that we might see Gibbs again."

So, it sounds like something could be brewing with "Gibbs." The "Vance" actor also reflected on how the legacy of "Gibbs" continues even in his absence: "Gibbs is the moral compass. He's the moral compass that we all wish we had."

NCIS season 20 is more than half over now. If it concludes without an appearance by "Gibbs," it would be the first season ever not to feature actor Mark Harmon. (His exit came at the start of season 19!)

In any case, millions of fans continue to enjoy the series in its new era. The team added ex-FBI agent "Alden Parker" (Gary Cole) following the exit of "Gibbs."

NCIS has not yet been renewed for season 21, and CBS already cancelled NCIS: LA in January. But fans have their fingers crossed!

Hopes will also be high for a "Gibbs" appearance as NCIS wraps up season 20. Let's hope Rocky Carroll is right!
