- A Criminal Minds reboot series is happening
- Paget Brewster previously cast doubt on it
- Now, there's a new update on the reboot
Criminal Minds fans were thrilled when a revival of the show was announced last year.
However, a few months later, star Paget Brewster said she believed the series was "dead." That was the last we heard, but there is now an official update on the reboot.
Criminal Minds reboot is still happening after all
Paramount+ is behind the Criminal Minds reboot, and they confirmed today that it's still happening after all.
"We are still very much in development on Criminal Minds," said Paramount president Nicole Clemens at a TCA event, per Deadline.
"We'll have more to share on that soon but it is alive and well," she added. That's the biggest update on the new Criminal Minds so far, since it was first announced in February 2021.
Also interesting:
In August, actress Paget Brewster told fans she thought the project was "dead" and that any progress seemed "unlikely." But it sounds like it's moving forward after all.
No cast members have ever been confirmed for the reboot, but the producers originally wanted to retain a good portion of the show's former stars.
Criminal Minds aired 15 seasons before a finale in early 2020. We'll keep you posted on news for the reboot series.
