Criminal Minds fans, brace yourselves...
The recently-announced revival series may not be happening after all. Former Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster shared the disappointing update about the developing series this week. Here's what she had to say.
Paget Brewster gives Criminal Minds reboot series update
We first heard about a Criminal Minds revival series back in February, when it was reported that CBS wanted to bring a new version of the show to its streamer Paramount+.
All had been quiet about the still-developing series since then, however. But just this week, a curious fan tweeted at Paget Brewster asking if there's any news on the series.
Brewster replied: "No, and sadly, we think it's dead. I'll let you know if there is any progress but it seems unlikely. Which is a bummer."
If Brewster's update holds true, it will come as disappointing news for the fans. Criminal Minds wrapped up in 2020 after 15 seasons during which it amassed a devoted following.
At the time of the revival announcement, there were no specific stars attached to the project, but the producers apparently wanted to retain a good portion of the cast from the original show.
Brewster's update would seem to suggest she was on board for the revival, after she played "Emily Prentiss" across most of the show's 15 seasons.
Hopefully that's not the last we hear of the Criminal Minds revival series, and we'll keep you posted on any news. You can also click here to see what the cast of the show is up to now.
