- Yellowstone has been renewed for season 5
- Two cast members will have bigger roles
- The TV show aired the season 4 finale last month
Big news for Yellowstone fans: the series has been renewed for a fifth season. The news comes one month after the popular TV show aired the season 4 finale.
Yellowstone confirms cast news on season 5 renewal
Today, the Paramount TV show announced on Twitter: "We've got some super sweet news: Yellowstone season 5 is a go. See you back at the ranch!"
On top of the renewal, two cast members have been upgraded to full-time roles in the new season, according to Deadline.
They are: Jennifer Landon, who plays the ranch hand "Teeter," and Kathryn Kelly, who plays "Emily," the girlfriend of "Jimmy" (Jefferson White).
Also interesting:
The bigger role for "Emily" appears to suggest "Jimmy" isn't leaving Yellowstone just yet — which was a worry for fans after the season 4 finale.
Otherwise, Kevin Costner and the cast are returning as the "Dutton" family in season 5.
No word on a release date just yet, but the TV show, which has been setting ratings records, will begin shooting season 5 in May.
