In the last few days, the news that Princess Kate is in hospital recovering from an operation came as a surprise. Shortly afterward, it was announced that King Charles III also had to have an operation.

Queen Camilla's duty of representation
Prince William wanted to be there for his family and canceled his appointments. Now the duty of representation falls mainly on Queen Camilla. She is expected to continue attending appointments and appearing in public over the next few weeks.
Although she will probably be supported by Princess Anne and Prince Edward, Camilla is still in a relatively lonely position without Charles and Prince William at her side.
