During a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall on October 17, Prince William (42) gave a rare insight into the life of the royal family. He told a fan that their Cocker Spaniel Orla often shares the bed with him and his wife Princess Kate (42). Louise Harland, who was present with her dog Jacks, told 'Hits Radio Cornwall': "[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate."

Harland added that William was excited about her dog and inquired what breed it was. "He's a Cockerjack – so he's a little bit of a unique combination," the woman explained. William was impressed by the animal's soft ears and paid a lot of attention to it.
Orla came into the royal family through Princess Kate's younger brother, James Middleton. In May 2020, he announced that his dog Luna had given birth to six healthy puppies. Orla was first seen in a birthday photo of Princess Charlotte in 2022. The name Orla has a special meaning, as it means "golden princess" in Celtic.

Orla followed in the footsteps of Lupo, another Cocker Spaniel in the family, who passed away in November 2020. The family said goodbye on social media with the words: "He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years, and we will miss him so much."
