- 'The Crown' is a hit Netflix show
- It's coming to an end very soon
- THIS is who will play Pippa Middleton
As we near the epic conclusion of 'The Crown', the question on everyone's mind has been answered: who will play Kate Middleton's sister on the show? The name and face who is set to embody Pippa Middleton has been revealed: Matilda Broadbridge, a 19-year-old newcomer British actress, will take on the role of Pippa in the series' exciting conclusion.
It's the news any young actor will be dying to receive, and her excitement was on full display for the world to see! Broadbridge took to her Instagram last week to share the news, posting a photo of her in a puffy jacket, yoga pants, and sneakers, posing outside of a trailer that reads "PIPPA."
Matilda's career is bound to explode
"A very short but very sweet trip to crown land" Broadbridge wrote. "so excited to announce that i’ll be appearing as Pippa Middleton in @thecrownnetflix so grateful to have been a tiny part of this production and for this experience, keep your eyes peeled."
With that in mind, it's time to get the work. The "tiny part" that Broadbridge references in her caption is because the early days of Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship will be shown in part two of season six. The show will begin with their meeting in 2001, but the royal drama will end in 2005. Therefore, Pippa, as Kate's sister, would only likely appear in a few scenes as it relates to the blossoming relationship.
But who is Matilda anyway? According to 'Tatler', playing Pippa will be the first major screen role for the 19-year-old English actress, who won Young Actor of the Year at Royal High School Bath in 2019. However, Broadbridge’s cameo in 'The Crown' is not expected to air until December, when the series introduces a young Kate Middleton, played by Meg Bellamy.
Also interesting:
News of Broadbridge’s casting as Pippa suggests that the second part of season 6 might sneak a peek into Kate’s personal life, as she and her only sister are close. The whole world couldn't stop talking about Pippa, as she was memorably by Kate’s side on her 2011 wedding day to Prince William and helped her arrange the train of her gown.
The pictures immortalized Pippa in royal memory, and now her status is royal history will be solidified on screen! Let's wait and see if Matilda's performance will be as memorable as Pippa's.
According to the 'Daily Mail', "Broadbridge was cast after submitting a self-made audition tape. She is expected to appear in scenes where Kate tells her family about meeting the future King. However, she won't get to wear that striking bridesmaid's gown, as the drama only covers the future Waleses' first year together at St Andrews University in Scotland."
'The Crown' season six, part one premieres on November 16, and part two, which features Broadbridge as Pippa, premieres December 14. Get your popcorn ready, people!
