Princess Anne is set to become a grandmother to a fifth child in 2021! Why might it be so different for her this time around?
Zara Phillips & Mike Tindall are expecting a third child in 2021
Last month, the Princess Royal's son-in-law, Mike Tindall, shared the big news that he and Zara Phillips are expecting their third child. Zara and Mike are already parents to daughters Mia, 6, and Lena, 2, but so far there's been no gender reveal on baby no. 3.
Princess Anne is also grandmother to Peter and Autumn Phillips's children, daughters Savannah, 10, and Isla, 8. If you're noticing a common trend here... Princess Anne only has granddaughters! Mike and Zara's 2021 royal baby could, in fact, make Anne a grandmother to a grandson for the first time. We're waiting on a gender reveal in the meantime.
Princess Anne could welcome first grandson in 2021
If Mike and Zara welcome their first son, Princess Anne would join her siblings Prince Charles and Prince Andrew as a grandparent to grandsons. The Prince of Wales, of course, is grandfather to Prince George, Prince Louis, and Archie, while the Duke of York has a step-grandson, Wolfie, through Princess Beatrice's 2020 marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
In case you missed it, revisit how Mike Tindall revealed the news of baby no. 3 last month here.
