The respected royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have detailed the events that lead up to the famous 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family. In it, they explain what really happened during the wedding tiara debacle.
Meghan Markle's Wedding Day Tiara
The tabloids were swirling with rumors that the Queen and Meghan Markle were fighting about the tiara that Meghan was hoping to use. According to countless UK papers, the Queen had actually rejected Meghan's tiara choice. But now Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a modern Royal Family is setting the record straight.
Scobie and Durand allege that protective Prince Harry was becoming frustrated with the Queen's longtime stylist, Angela Kelly who was in charge of helping Meghan with the tiara's. Angela Kelly was supposedly dragging her feet in helping Meghan get access to the tiara she had picked.
Meghan needed access to it in advanced for a hair trial. As most brides know, the hair trial is crucial and must be prepared ahead of the big day, and for Meghan, this would obviously include the tiara that would be on top of her head and with the veil.
According to the research and interviews done by Scobie and Durand, there was in fact no conflict between the Queen and Meghan, the tiara trouble was all between Prince Harry and Angela Kelly. Finally, the hair trial went forward with the tiara with no hesitation from the Queen.
The book is finally clearing up all of the misinformation surrounding the Royal family.
