Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly been leaning on Countess Sophie since Prince Philip passed away in April.
It's now been two months since the Queen lost her husband, and royal insiders told The Sun this week that Sophie has been a "pillar of support" since the death in the family.
Countess Sophie is helping the Queen after Prince Philip's death
The Queen has carried on with her duties and even stepped out for major engagements this week, including a reception for the G7 summit and a meeting with US President Joe Biden.
But, behind closed doors, courtiers say that Sophie, the Queen's daughter-in-law, has been a "rock" for the 95-year-old monarch. She is said to rely "daily" on the Countess of Wessex.
One insider even told The Sun: "If you're asking who is Her Majesty's favourite child, it's none of them, it's her daughter-in-law."
Countess Sophie, 56, is the wife of the Queen's youngest child, Prince Edward. The couple has stepped up since the Duke of Edinburgh's death and in the aftermath of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepping away from work with the Royal Family.
Queen Elizabeth carries on 2 months after Prince Philip died
The Countess of Wessex has reportedly been spending much more time — in person and on the phone — with the Queen. The 95-year-old has persevered following her husband's death, quickly returning to duties after a brief mourning period in April.
This week was perhaps the Queen's biggest test yet. On Friday, she successfully took centre stage as the host of a reception in Cornwall for the 2021 G7 Summit.
The 95-year-old followed that up by attending Trooping the Colour on Saturday and then hosting the Bidens at Windsor Castle on Sunday.
We continue to wish the Queen well as she moves forward without Prince Philip.
