- Prince Harry and Meghan named their son Archie
- They almost went with a whole other name
- Meghan revealed what they nearly called Archie
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are proud parents of their son Archie, born in May 2019. Together with him, the new parents moved to America in 2020, where they live to this day.
The couple makes the long trip to Europe only for special events. Such was the case in April 2022, when Harry and Meghan attended the Invictus Games together in the Netherlands.
Meghan revealed what they almost named Archie
In The Hague, the couple took part in various events and, among other things, got into conversation with spectators and participants. Among them was Sherry McBain, a participant on the British team, and her wife.
Duchess Meghan revealed to the wife that her son Archie almost had another name: the same name as McBain's son: Harrison. She said, "Harrison, that's Archie's middle name."
"They [Meghan and the wife] were just having a chat because Harry and Meghan couldn't decide between Archie and Harrison for the first name," Sherry McBain told People magazine.

Apparently, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were able to agree on a compromise and kept Harrison as a middle name. In the end, however, they don't care what their son's name is, because the most important thing for Prince Harry and his wife is their son's character.
"And nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us," Prince Harry explained at the opening of the Invictus Games. The royal parents are committed to ensuring that their children, Archie and Lilibet, can grow up in a "safer world."
